Christmas Gifts, Part One

Let's start with games, as usual.

Invasion Earth: 2038 is a new text adventure from Alan Pemberton. As a reminder, the author recently released two more games for Next, and something tells me he doesn't plan on stopping there. And that's great.

Martin Page in the Facebook group announced the upcoming release of his next role-playing game, The City of Gloomburgh. We wish him luck with testing.

I continue to search for and classify examples in BASIC, and the majority of the applications I've found are the work of David Saphier. Perhaps I didn't study his work closely enough last time. There are several new releases:

• Audio Engines (by Kev Brady, but repo by David)
• Pi0-tzxplayer
• PT3 Player

Including one demo:

• Simple DMA playback on the ZX Next

Finally, let's remember another demo that was released recently: Speedball Demo by Andrew Seed. It's a clear demonstration of how effective games can be for the Next.
